BIBLE - The Bible corrects and teaches me

SCRIPTURE
Matthew 4:4 | But Jesus told him, No! The Scriptures say, People do not live by bread alone, but by every word that comes from the mouth of God.

2 Timothy 3:14-17 | But you must remain faithful to the things you have been taught. You know they are true, for you know you can trust those who taught you. You have been taught the holy Scriptures from childhood, and they have given you the wisdom to receive the salvation that comes by trusting in Christ Jesus. All Scripture is inspired by God and is useful to teach us what is true and to make us realize what is wrong in our lives. It corrects us when we are wrong and teaches us to do what is right. God uses it to prepare and equip his people to do every good work.

Jeremiah 23:29 | Does not my word burn like fire? says the LORD. Is it not like a mighty hammer that smashes a rock to pieces?

DISCUSSION
  1. Do you believe the Bible is inspired by God because it is Gods Word— straight from God Himself? Why or why not?
  2. 2nd Timothy 3:16 says the Bible teaches us what is true. What are some Biblical truths you are certain of? Can you find them in the Bible? (Why might it be helpful to know where these truths can be found)?
  3. How have you experienced the Bible as a means of correcting what is wrong in your life? How have you used Scripture to start doing what is right?
  4. Sometimes people try to only use Gods Word to feel good - thinking about the good promises for the people of God. According to Jeremiah 23, Gods Word can also feel hard or painful. When have you experienced this (or experienced correction by Gods Word) in your own life?
  5. 2nd Timothy 3:17 says God uses His word to get you ready to do His work. How is correction part of this process?
