James 1:22 | But do not just listen to Gods word. You must do what it says. Otherwise, you are only fooling yourselves.

Exodus 4:10-12 | 10 But Moses pleaded with the LORD, O Lord, I am not very good with words. I never have been, and I am not now, even though you have spoken to me. I get tongue-tied, and my words get tangled. 11 Then the LORD asked Moses, Who makes a persons mouth? Who decides whether people speak or do not speak, hear or do not hear, see or do not see? Is it not I, the LORD? 12 Now go! I will be with you as you speak, and I will instruct you in what to say.

2 Corinthians 12:8-10 | 8 Three different times I begged the Lord to take it away. 9 Each time he said, My grace is all you need. My power works best in weakness. So now I am glad to boast about my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ can work through me. 10 That is why I take pleasure in my weaknesses, and in the insults, hardships, persecutions, and troubles that I suffer for Christ. For when I am weak, then I am strong.

  1. What was the excuse of Moses for why He could not follow Gods directions?
  2. What insecurities or weaknesses do you have that make you feel like God cannot use you, people will not listen to you, or you are not good enough to make a difference?
  3. According to 2nd Corinthians 12:9-10, Gods strength shines in our weakness. Are you willing to risk being weak so Gods power can show? Why or why not?
  4. Insecurity and weakness are excuses that we use to hide our pride. How do you struggle with pride? How does that keep you from following the Lord?
